It’s a great, old-school cross country race. I was particularly impressed with the exceptional marshalling and route marking as although it would be easy to go off route or get lost in the dense woods, there was never a moment when I wasn’t sure which way to go. It’s not really a race for beginners, as it’s very hilly in places and 6.5 miles on muddy, stony terrain is quite sapping even for experienced XC runners. Overall though, it’s a very enjoyable, exceptional event that I would unhesitatingly recommend.

First ever trail run, great race, well organised, marshals out on the course always helpful all the way round. Very muddy, very slippy, great fun.

A fantastic run with some technical sections and a few cheeky hills.
The setting is beautiful and the atmosphere is always do positive and friendly.

No information was given ahead of time regarding this event. All I received was a confirmation that I had paid and was in. No further emails or guidance received after this. Very poor. I didn't attend instead I signed up to the coastbuster 10 miler and in the space of two days had three emails welcoming me to the event with all the race information times where to park etc. after completing I received an email with a thank you and results of the race.

My first trail run, was not sure what to expect, other than some mud. Well muddy it was, chucked it down before and during the whole race. A great laugh with friends who were also trail newbies too. The course had a variety of terrain, gravel paths, squelchy mud, and even a couple of leaf covered banks, where we had to use ropes to pull ourselves up. Great fun had by all!

I answered question 6 as a maybe, it would be incredibly challenging to someone who has never run this style of cross country, if this was there first season or certainly first race . I think for me I dismissed any time and told myself I’m a 57 year old man reasonable fit look as this as both a challenge and a fitness workout , it’s my second finish 1 06. 2018. 1 14 today I’m happy will definitely race next year !

I fell and lost my car key and was very grateful to another runner who kindly picked it up and let me have it at the finish, a great relief!

Quite expensive, could do with a few more marshals & shouldn't have to wait all day for the results to be published. But overall a good good unique event.

Thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to coming back next year and going to other events now
